Let's be honest. It's that time of year again.

The time when opening your front door feels like opening an oven, your steering wheel becomes a branding iron, and walking across a parking lot qualifies as cardio.

Southeast Texas summer has officially arrived.

As a roofing company, we spend a lot of time talking about roofs, leaks, maintenance, and protecting buildings. But this month, we'd like to talk about something even more important than what's over your head.

You.

The summer heat is no joke. Whether you're working outside, mowing the lawn, attending ballgames, fishing, or simply trying to make it from the parking lot to the grocery store without melting, please remember to take care of yourself.

Drink plenty of water. Take breaks when needed. Wear sunscreen. Check on family members, neighbors, and friends, especially those who may be more vulnerable to the heat. And please, never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even for a moment.

Our crews work outdoors every day, and we've learned a few things over the years. One of them is that roofs can wait a few minutes. Heat exhaustion can't.

While we certainly appreciate every opportunity to earn your business, we believe people are more important than projects. Whether we ever install a roof for you or not, we genuinely hope you have a safe, healthy summer.

Now, if the summer sun, storms, or one of those afternoon downpours decides to remind you that your roof needs some attention, we're always happy to help. Questions are free, advice is free, and if we can point you in the right direction, we're glad to do it.

Thank you for allowing Monument Roofing Systems to serve Southeast Texas for more than 50 years. We are grateful for the trust, friendships, and relationships we've built throughout the years.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and remember: the best way to beat the heat is to respect it.
